The Grand Prairie YMCA is currently taking application for energetic, confident, and friendly staff to work in the sports department as Sports Aides.
The Sports Aide will help to oversee practice and game sites while under the guidance of the Sports Director including providing answers to questions or seeking others who can do so, and enforcing all YMCA rules and policies.
The Sports Aide must be punctual, have great attendance, and demonstrate professionalism and teamwork.
The Sports Aide will set-up and take-down of equipment as well as help to ensure the cleanliness of the facility or field.
The Sports Aide will assist in maintaining communication with parents, coaches, and referees.
If needed, the Sports Aide will assist in forming teams, creating schedules, volunteer coaches, scheduling referees, maintaining TeamSideline, etc.
The Sports Aide may officiate games as necessary.
When officiating he/she is responsible for upholding the Sports Official Code of Conduct and enforcing the rules of play.
He/She is the sole representative at many of the YMCA games, and is to take & maintain control of the games at all times.
He/she will call the game as fairly as possible and will make calls on a deemed needed basis.
These decisions should be made quickly and with the best of his/her ability.
In addition, the Sports Aide will assist the Sports Director with any other duties as assigned.
When applying, candidate must provide a resume with relevant experience.
Days & HoursSaturdays and some week days.
The schedule varies depending on the number of leagues and teams and sports season.
Work hours range from 15-25/week.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age (High School Diploma or higher) Must have data input/computer experience, organizational skills, and verbal skils.
Must understand the basic principles of sports programs such as basketball, baseball, soccer, football, baseball, and volleyball.
Incumbent should be able to communicate with players, coaches and parents effectively, maintain a courteous, friendly attitude and be a positive role model.
Ability to make sound decisions and judgments even when distracted by noise and activity.
Position may require repetitive stooping and bending and the candidate should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time is also required.
Visual acuity is required for monitoring potential hazards for children.
Must be energetic, enthusiastic and have the motivation to share that energy with all the sports participants.
Must possess a strong understanding of the YMCA and its mission as well as have a strong desire to deliver a quality program to children and families in the community.
Must attend provided trainings including First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Awareness, and other trainings as outlined by the YMCA.
Recommended Skills Cpr Confident And Emotionally Stable Conflict Management Coordinating First Aid And Preparedness Friendliness Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
