Position Overview:
PERFORMING WORK OUTDOORS UNDER AN ASSORTMENT OF WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TEMPERATURE EXTREMES At some point, all material handlers will be required to work in a less than ideal environment.
As a result, material handlers should ensure that they come to work in gear that is appropriate for the current climate.
Some gear such as raincoats, ponchos, hand-warmers, etc, may be provided by the warehouse site manager when requested.
The Material Handler position will provide onsite material handling support by unloading incoming shipments.
They will use a sit down forklift to off-load the shipments to a certain location, then they will document the contents to ensure all shipment has arrived.
Material Handlers will also prepare loads to be picked up by ensuring all needed parts are included from inventory and the load content is complete.
Must have good customer service skills and basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software like Word, Excel, etc.
The ability to work independently and be a responsible self-starter is essential for success in this position.
Essential Functions:
Working under direction of Warehouse Lead and/or supervisor Pulling and Issuing Material for construction and maintenance projects Inspecting Material Performing Quality Control Performing Routine Maintenance Processing of returned material Recycling of materials Salvaging of materials Porcelain Metal Disposal of material Sorting of material for credit into inventory Forklift Certification, Operation of forklift and Inspection of forklift Warehouse and yard walk inspection Conducting warehouse inventory counts and reconciliation measures Supporting other warehouse workloads as required Assists in off-site inventory counts when needed Assists Oncor personnel on inventory counts for TRN and DIS steel reels Assists in inventory counts Assists as warehouse support for picking and/or receiving Supports Oncor emergency restoration(s) Performing general housekeeping, cleaning and sweeping daily or as needed Running reports and entering data in Oncor's system applications Minimum
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software Pay:
$18.
