Human Resources Specialist (Senior Human Resources Specialist)

This position is located in the Consolidated Staffing Unit (CSU), Grand Prairie Texas. The incumbent, under general supervision, is tasked with implementing, operating, maintaining, and monitoring the Bureau's Internet Accessible Employment and Career Management Application System, BOP-Careers. The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of assessments affecting case examining under the BOP-Careers and BOP-HIRES automated systems.Incumbent conducts analytical studies and/or projects in support of the improvement of staffing management functions, practices, and services to enhance programs. The incumbent has ongoing responsibility for complex projects and processes, which requires analysis and the application of specialized skills in the design and development of new projects to improve internal staffing systems by formulating and recommending Quality Improvement controls. The incumbent serves as a senior advisor and subject matter expert in the case examining field and as such is given wide latitude and authority in carrying out a complex nationwide staffing component. Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications required to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience implementing government-wide personnel management regulations, principles and practices promulgated by the Office of Personnel Management as well as orders and policies of the Department of Justice and Bureau of Prisons related to human resource management. Experience which demonstrated knowledge of computer systems sufficient to input corrective actions, extract or manipulate information in complex personnel/payroll databases. Experience reviewing and rating employment applications and experience working with automated employment application systems. Experience which demonstrates the ability to resolve complex issues related to case examining. Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
